Human Rights in Canada  

No Canadian legislation explicitly implements any of the major international human rights instruments. While other countries may have human rights legislation that deals with gross human rights violations, human rights legislation in Canada deals primarily with acts of discrimination in all forms of employment, services, contracts, and accommodation.

Discrimination law or human rights  statutes have been enacted in Canada at the federal level (The Canadian Human Rights Act), at the provincial level (the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms and the Ontario Human Rights Code), and territorial levels. As well, human rights protection was entrenched in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, in 1982.
