Citing Sources

"He liked those literary cooks
Who skim the cream of others' books;
And ruin half an author's graces
By plucking bon-mots from their places."

                  - Hannah More (Florio (1786) pt. 1, l. 123)

When writing a research paper, it is important to document every quotation, paraphrase and idea. Each discipline uses its own method of documentation or citation style. Professors may recommend different styles. There is no single correct form, but it is essential that consistency be observed in all entries.
